This statement applies to bloomsby-sara.com, operated by Blooms by Sara, based in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Ongoing Accessibility Effort

Our Commitment

Blooms by Sara is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe everyone deserves equal access to information about our floral design services, events, and workshops. We are continually working to improve the user experience for all visitors and to apply relevant accessibility standards.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those with visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.

We also seek to comply with:

  • Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires places of public accommodation — including businesses that operate websites — to provide equal access to individuals with disabilities.
  • Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 272, Section 98, which prohibits discrimination in public accommodations based on disability.
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act accessibility principles, where applicable.

What We Have Done

To support accessibility, we have taken the following measures on this Site:

  • Used semantic HTML elements to support screen readers and assistive technologies
  • Added descriptive alt text to meaningful images
  • Maintained sufficient color contrast between text and background for readability
  • Ensured all pages have descriptive page titles
  • Made interactive elements (buttons, links, forms) focusable and operable by keyboard
  • Used ARIA attributes where needed to improve screen reader clarity
  • Provided labels for all form fields
  • Ensured text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • Avoided content that flashes more than three times per second

Known Limitations

While we strive for full compliance, some areas of our Site may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Known limitations include:

  • Third-party tools and plugins (such as Gravity Forms and embedded widgets) may have accessibility constraints outside of our direct control. We are working with these vendors and monitoring their updates.
  • Some older images may lack full alternative text descriptions. We are reviewing and updating these.
  • Video content on the homepage does not currently include captions or an audio description. We are evaluating options to address this.

We are actively working to address these limitations and improve the overall accessibility of the Site.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

This Site has been designed and tested with accessibility in mind and is intended to be compatible with:

  • Screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom and text resizing tools
  • High contrast display modes
